Everybody dies, just like we were all born. But now, you are still alive. Why? What are the things you are expected to achieve as your assignment on earth before you die? Do you know them?
Your Life Has an Assignment From God. Your Existence on Earth Is Intentional
God didn’t create you for nothing. The fact that you’re alive today is proof that God has appointed you an assignment to fulfill. Without this divine purpose, your life would be meaningless.
Every day we wake up, every bit of God’s goodness that we experience, is a divine allowance to continue in the fulfillment of our God-given assignment. Without purpose, there is no true reason to live.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12
“O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” – Psalm 90:14
“Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? Are not his days also like the days of a hireling?” – Job 7:1
To “number our days” means to live intentionally, investing every moment in what truly matters — our God-given assignment.
Everything Was Made for a Purpose — Including You
Every product in life has a purpose. A chair was made to be sat on, a bell to be rung, a phone to communicate. Likewise, you were created as a solution to a specific need on earth.
If you stumble upon an unfamiliar tool, you either ask its maker or wrongly assume its use — leading to abuse. Purpose must come from the Creator, not from assumptions or opinions.
Just like in a carpenter’s shop:
- A hammer drives nails.
- A saw cuts wood.
- A tape measures dimensions.
- A clamp holds pieces in place.
Each tool is defined by its purpose — and so are we. Our universal purpose as humans is to please God, do His will, and complete our unique callings.
“Thou art worthy, O Lord… for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” – Revelation 4:11
“Even every one that is called by my name… I have created him for my glory…” – Isaiah 43:7

You Have a Unique Assignment
Just as no two chairs are designed the same, no two people share the same divine assignment. Your calling is unique — tailored by God specifically for you.
To discover it, you must go to your Creator. Friends, mentors, and even parents may have good intentions, but only God can reveal your true assignment.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things…” – Jeremiah 33:3

In Matthew 16:13–17, Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do men say I am?” Only Peter got it right — because the Father revealed it to him. That’s how purpose is discovered: by revelation from God.

Brace Up! You Have an Assignment to Fulfill
You came from God’s “factory” fully equipped. You don’t need to reinvent yourself or try to be what the world wants you to be. Stick to what God made you to be, and develop it into His full expectation. If you don’t know it yet – that’s alright: go and ask God your Creator, let Him reveal it to you.
Don’t let the voices around you distract you. Be God-centric, not people-centric. Align your life with His will and do all you can to complete your assignment — not for applause, but for God’s pleasure.
It’s Your Choice — Be Intentional
You could define life by your own ideas — many people do. But that’s dangerous. One thing remains true across all generations: everyone dies.
Since you didn’t create yourself or control your lifespan, you must submit to the One who did — your Creator.
It is in your best interest to live by His design and explanation for life. Don’t gamble with your eternity.
Get to Work! You Have an Assignment to Complete
Your assignment is the reason you’re alive. Don’t waste your time chasing distractions engineered by the devil to derail your destiny.
Every second counts — invest it in fulfilling your God-given mission.
We live in a distracted world. And unfortunately, we’ve been conditioned into habits and mindsets that block us from discovering purpose. But now is the time to break free. Shake off the lies, and embrace the truth:
You are not here for fun, fame, or fortune.
You are here to fulfill God’s divine purpose for your life.
Final Word: Live with Eternal Purpose
Life is not a random walk. You were sent with a purpose, and you will give account.
So now that you know this truth, what will you do about it?
The time is now — seek God, know your assignment, and get to work!
Your life matters because your assignment matters.
